My science fiction story Quiet Resistance is an alternative history explanation for the neoliberal infestation of the UK and USA, and it includes an ending of the infestation I think might be a wish come true for those who’d like to see it happen that way.
But it’s my worst performing book. Very low sales figures and zero reviews. This little story is dying out there, starved of oxygen.
So if you’ve read it, I’ll be very grateful if you would post a review. On Amazon or elsewhere. Doesn’t have to be more than a line or two. https://www.books2read.com/u/3G9VVd
PS. Thanks to my generous friend Claire Buss for creating this graphic, which I love.
My brand new SF alien invasion novella QUIET RESISTANCE is released.
Aliens invaded Earth and occupied the UK and the USA. They assumed the roles of the human upper classes, many existing members of which welcomed and collaborated with them in order to maintain personal wealth and power. Resistance movements were formed, but their effectiveness was limited by the constant and deadly threat of an orbiting alien spaceship.
Thirty-five years later, when two spaceship slaves escape down to Snowdonia in possession of humanity-saving information, New Scotland Yard detectives Carmen Wood and Thomas Able are sent to find them in a race against time and overwhelmingly well-resourced alien agents. The next five days will change the world forever.
A Christmas ghost story in space starring two brave young women engineers who happen to be in love, this previously published title is now rewritten as an adult novella and released to celebrate PRIDE.
“Damage Control is action, love and loyalty all wrapped around an intriguing Science Fiction puzzle.” USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR KIM KNOX
Kath Preston and Jen Stenberg are damage control engineers in the generation starship Romeo, 582 years into its 800-year journey from frozen Earth to humanity’s hopeful future on planet Nirvana. When they were schoolgirl best friends, Romeo’s population was doubled to 10,000 by taking on survivors from its stricken sister ship Juliet in the disaster that claimed the life of Kath’s hero father Peter.
On Christmas Eve seventeen years later, in the space of a single 24-hour duty while the people of Romeo are preparing to enjoy the holiday, can Kath and Jen step into Peter’s hero shoes when the actions of a murderous rogue crewman and the lurking ghost of the Juliet conspire to threaten Romeo’s safety and the lives of those they love?
